Having completed our latest mission, and with England done
with the Hundred Years War, it’s time to start getting pally with the ally!
(Sorry, I know it doesn’t quite rhyme!)
Once again, the old problem of losing stability arises
again... I simply have to kow-tow to the ruling classes for the foreseeable
future... this time I lose legitimacy instead...
Oh, well, losing 30 legitimacy didn’t do too much harm...
Bad news for Burgundy... there’ll be a civil war over the
succession, which leaves them wide open to France...
In 1448, our explorers and cartographers map out incredible
climactic phenomena. Knowledge of the ‘Trade Winds’ as they are becoming known,
will help our sailors...
The great Nuno Tristao continues his expeditions around the
Indies, discovering new lands and tribes in 1448 and 1449
Before sadly succumbing to a tribal spear in March 1450. He
will be sorely missed
Yet again, we give in to the demands of the nobility... how
long can we give in before they demand too much?
In June of 1450, Castile attacks the Muslim nation of
Granada, to take back the provinces from the Moors some 700 years after they
had first been lost
Sailors returning to Porto bring back a new form of
influenza with them. The port is quarantined to prevent the spread of the
illness, reducing our income, but sparing our people
